This document offers guidance on the public procurement of innovation (PPI). The approach taken is a practical one, based on the needs of the FIRED-uP project. Legal, financial and management aspects of PPI are addressed.Although this guidance has been developed in the specific context of vehicle procurement for front-line emergency services, many of the approaches discussed are equally relevant for other types of public sector procurement.
